Broken but Stronger

Black woman with golden streaks across her face, Japanese characters for "kintsugi" next to her, and "Broken but Stronger" under her.
Acrylic and Alcohol Ink Drawing

This is the first in a 4-part series honoring the Japanese art of kintsugi. Kintsugi is the process of repairing broken pottery with gold. The philosophy is that while the original pottery was nice, once it has been broken and repaired through kintsugi, it is now even better. This series relates that same philosophy to those that have been through difficult times, or are going through them now. You might feel broken, but those experiences make you stronger.
