Custom Yu-Gi-Oh Card: Duke Valefrites

My son requested a custom Yu-Gi-Oh card based on the Nouvelles archetype. Those cards combine different food dishes with demons from the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum. My son wanted a version based on French fries, one of his favorite foods. I found a demon in that pantheon called Duke Valefor. He has the body of a lion and the head of a man and he tempts people to steal. I thought he was perfect for French fries, since people are often tempted to steal a fry or two off a friend’s plate. I drew him stealing a fry off of a waitress’s tray. That waitress is also seen on other Yu-Gi-Oh cards in that archetype.

I used alcohol-based markers and watercolor markers for this drawing. The next step is to put this drawing into a Yu-Gi-Oh card template.
